Here at Barmston Farm, we have a wide range of animals from the farm dogs & cats to the chickens and ducks who roam the holiday park and are very friendly and curious. When you arrive at the reception you will notice we have an aviary with a large array of colourful birds, and fancy pigeons who love to sit on the roof of Fox and Otter cottages.
Over in the main field we have our herd of Miniature Mediterranean Donkeys who all love a cuddle along with Kenny & Herbie the shetland ponies, who share a field with Oliver & Elaine our inquisitive Llamas that watch your every move.
We also have our beautiful herd of breeding Pygmy Goats and most of the year you will be able to see the mothers nursing their Kids. The goats are kept company by Lady Penelope the teacup pig that grew & grew & grew! All watched over by our small flock of Rhea. Some would say our very own big barn farm for those of you who watch Cbeebies!
We have an abundance of wild animals, pheasants, Swans and Rabbits, Owls, Squirrels, Buzzards, Kingfishers and poultry keepers enemy Mr Fox. You can watch the Squirrels in the trees around the farm yard partaking in aerial acrobatics, Barn owls can also regularly be seen flying around the farm buildings and over the fishing lake field, where you can meet our trio of Chinese Geese, and our Black necked Swans among the wildfowl who regularly join them for the free food.
For those of you who are early risers you may even be able to catch a glimpse of the deer that regularly run through the fishing lake field in the early hours of the morning.
If you are patient and quiet you may spot the Kingfisher Nigel frequently sees near the fishing lake, or the pair of Buzzards that have made their home in the woods. Or what a nice pastime to just observe the swifts and swallows swooping around building nests and feeding their young.
